By car
Plan for 4 hours journey time from Manchester, 2 hours from Carlisle.
From the north – follow the A77 to the junction with the A70; turn RIGHT into Ayr.
From the south – follow the A74/M74 (direction Glasgow) until Gretna; then the A75 to Dumfries; the A76 to Cumnock and the A70 into Ayr.

Stay on Holmston Road (A70) all the way into Ayr - the River Ayr is on the right.
At a large double roundabout (opposite the station) turn LEFT and then immediately RIGHT.
The road crosses the railway line into Ayr town centre.
At the ESSO PETROL STATION, follow the one way system round to the LEFT; go down the hill, turn RIGHT at the traffic lights.
At the next traffic lights, turn LEFT into MILLER ROAD.
At the next traffic lights, turn RIGHT onto RACECOURSE ROAD.
Go straight on through 1 set of traffic lights and 1 pedestrian crossing.
Enter roundabout and take first exit onto FORT STREET.
Enter next roundabout and take 2nd exit onto HARBOUR STREET.
Turn LEFT over the bridge.
Take first LEFT immediately after the bridge onto NORTH HARBOUR STREET.
Turn first right and immediately 1st RIGHT into the car park:
- the car space for Riverside Cottage is first on the right; the entry door (yale key) is on your right hand side and once in the building the mortice key opens the cottage door on the right
- the car space for Harbourview Apartment is fourth on the right and the entry door (yale key) is directly in front of you; the apartment is first floor on the right

By train
Ayr is on a main line from Glasgow (Central Station). Trains run every 30 minutes (60 minutes on Sunday) and the journey takes about 45 minutes. Then a 5 minute taxi drive or a 15 minute walk: turn right out of the station onto Smith Street, turn left into Kyle Street which joins High Street and follow it down to the end; then turn right and cross the River Ayr; turn left immediately after the bridge onto North Harbour Street; turn 1st right and immediately first right into the car park to face the apartment block.

By bus
Buses from Glasgow leave from the Buchanan Street bus station. Express buses go to the bus station in Ayr (Fullarton Street); non-express buses will stop nearer the apartments at King Street (opposite the Police Station) – from there walk left to the traffic lights, turn left, turn first right just before the bridge onto North Harbour Street; turn first right and immediately first right into the car par park to face the apartment block.

By air
From Prestwick Airport to the apartments is about 4 miles.
By car: turn left on leaving the airport and travel straight through the towns of Prestwick and Ayr. Approaching Ayr town centre, when you see Lidl and Brantano shops on the right, prepare to turn right at the large roundabout with the Police Station on the corner - turn right. At traffic lights (opposite MFI) turn right. Turn first left into Crown Street. Turn first left into Back Peebles Street and follow the gentle bend to the right – the properties are at the end of this road on the left hand side and the car park is on the left just before the building.
By train: from the station at Prestwick airport to Ayr station is a 5 minute journey. Trains run every 30 minutes (60 minutes on Sundays). Then follow directions above.

From Glasgow Airport (about 40 miles)
By car: leave the airport on the M8 following the signs to Glasgow City Centre and Kilmarnock. Next leave the M8 at Junction 24 and follow the signs to Kilmarnock. After a short but slow journey through built up areas, you should join the M77 to Kilmarnock and Ayr. Then follow directions above for car travel.
By train: from the airport, get to Paisley station either by taking the shuttle bus (£1.50, but can be refunded at the train station if you ask the bus driver for a transfer ticket) or a taxi (approximately £5). Trains from Paisley to Ayr (£5.50) run every 30 minutes (60 minutes on Sundays) and the journey takes about 40 minutes. From Ayr station follow directions above.
